Isabelle Hoffa (Hoffa) JenkinsJanuary 9, 1928 ~ October 1, 2017 (age 89)
Isabelle Hoffa Jenkins, 89, formerly of Womelsdorf, entered into her eternal rest in the early morning hours Sunday, October 1, 2017 in Riverwoods Senior Living Center, Lewisburg, PA.
Born January 9, 1928, in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Laura Mae (Schaeffer) Hoffa. Isabelle attended Womelsdorf schools and graduated from Womelsdorf High School in 1946. She was married to Thomas R. Jenkins for 54 years until his death in March of 2006.
Isabelle was on the cradle roll at Zion UCC church in Womelsdorf and remained a life-long member until the time of her passing. She was a member of the Mother’s Class and enjoyed singing in the choir. Isabelle had worked in a few local factories and completed her years in the work force as the dairy manager at what is now Boyer’s IGA until her retirement in 1984.
Some of Isabelle’s favorite pastimes were paint-by-number, making braided wool rugs, bowling with friends at the Womelsdorf Fire Company and enjoying afternoons playing cards with her group friends. Above all, she enjoyed time spent with her grandson and granddaughter and looked forward to their many visits.
Isabelle is survived by her three daughters: Marianne J. Owen, wife of F. Drake Owen; Kathleen Carr, wife of Thomas H. Carr and Barbara Jenkins. She is also survived by her grandchildren Laura Beckman and Charles Carr. There is one surviving sister, Dorothy Kirkhoff of Womelsdorf.
Isabelle was predeceased by her siblings: Harold Hoffa, Charles Hoffa, and Mary Hoffa Gerhart.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from the Mull Funeral Home, 27 East High St., Womelsdorf, PA. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. following the visitation. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
