Carol Myers Obituary

Carol Suzanne (Varady) Myers came into the world on October 23, 1942, at the Pottstown Hospital. The last surviving of the four children of William and Mary (Novak) Varady, she slipped peacefully away on March 23rd at her home in Wernersville after a weekend full of love and laughter surrounded by three generations of descendants with whom Carol shared a deep and abiding mutual love.

Raised in Stowe, she forever cherished growing up in the close-knit community of largely first and second generation Americans and took great pride in her Hungarian heritage. Especially dear to her heart were the memories of her grandmother, her Aunt Betty and Uncle John Basco, and their children.

She was the loving wife of 63 years to James D. Myers.

She was a 1960 graduate of Pottsgrove High School, where she lettered in Field Hockey and Cheerleading and was a member of the Homecoming Court.

Carol retired from her working career as secretary for Upper Tulpehocken Township. She had previously worked as a secretary for Security Trust Bank in Pottstown, a receptionist at the Lancaster Police Department, a legal secretary in law firms in Bedford County and Reading, PA, and at the Agricultural Center in Bern Township. Carol retired early to assist in the care of her ailing daughter in law and her three children.

Carol inherited a love for gardening and flowers from her mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crafts which included making cross-stitch Christmas stockings for each grandchild and every Christmas she would make a handmade ornament and a personalized Santa Claus for each grandchild. She also enjoyed scrap-booking, stamping, and card-making.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her 3 children, Traci L. (Kissinger) Martin (Bryan), Juli Myers, and Jeffrey J. Myers (Carlotta); 11 grandchildren, Korrin, Alix, Erika, Brooke, James, III, Bailey, Mary, Rhiannon, Nicholas, Patrick, and Megan; and 16 great grandchildren, Myla-Kate, Tatianna, Marcus, Giovanni, Vincent, Nico, Adrianna, Serafina, ZaNiyah, Elijah, Bryson, Tessa, Layla, Lucas, Leo, and Maverick.

She was also predeceased by siblings, Marianne Reigner, Arlene Geisler, and John Varady; daughter in law, Caroline Myers; son in law, Sonny Kramer; and son in law, Kenneth Kissinger.
