Charles I. “Charlie” Reidler, age 96, of Wernersville passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at the Reading Hospital with his family by his side.
On September 5, 1953 he married Betty Jane (Carey) Reidler who died on February 9, 2017. They were married 63 years.
He was born in Muir, Schuylkill County, PA on December 29, 1928 a son of the late Samuel A. and Ethel M. (Tobin) Reidler.
He was a graduate of Frailey Township High School in Donaldson, PA and was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army proudly serving in the Army Corp of Engineers state side and in the Panama Canal.
He was the owner and operator of Charlie’s Pastry Shop in Wernersville for 32 years.
He was a life member of the Pioneer, Citizens, and Mt. Aetna Fire Company’s, a former member of the Wernersville Lions Club for many years, and a former member of the Wernersville V.F.W.
He is survived by two sons, Carl E. Reidler and Kurt D. Reidler, both of Wernersville; two grandchildren, Lindsay K. Capone (Theodore), of Wernersville, and Charles E. Reidler (Abigail), of Newmanstown; three great grandchildren, Mackenzie L., Isabella M., and Dominick A. Capone, all of Wernersville; and a sister, Claire H. Coleman, of Hegins, PA.
He was also predeceased by four brothers, Harold L., Robert A., Samuel A., and Leslie K. Reidler; and two sisters, Joan E. Berkheiser and Janet F. Lengel.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening November 5, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Cole Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 402 E. Penn Ave., Robesonia, PA.
Burial will be private at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his memory to a Veterans Group or Animal Charity of your choice or to Cole Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
