Gerald L. “Gerry” Kramer, age 91, formerly of Wernersville and currently a resident of Mifflin Court, Shillington, passed away on October 9, 2023 at Complete Care Berkshire, Exeter Twp. after a brief illness.
Married for over 66 years, Gerry was the widower of Betty J. Kramer who passed away on September 23, 2020.
Born in Robesonia, he was the son of the late Ira N. and Effie C. (Snyder) Kramer.
Gerry is survived by his loving daughter, Cindy A., companion of David Traub, Exeter Twp.
Fondly called “Sonny” by his family members, he is also survived by his sister, Mildred “Dolly” wife of Robert Schlabach, Wernersville; his brother, Russell Kramer, husband of Lorraine, Robesonia; sisters-in-law, Julia Kramer and Sandie Kramer; and many nieces & nephews.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Merlin, Douglas, Ira Jr., and Kenneth Kramer; and three sisters, Winifred Kramer, Joyce Smith, and Loretta Rothermel.
Gerry was a 1950 graduate of Robesonia High School. He continued his education and graduated from Penn State in King of Prussia and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.
He served in the U.S. Army as an Electronics Specialist during the Korean War.
Gerry was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Robesonia.
His career managing and installing mainframe computer systems for Burroughs took him all over the world. He was most proud of becoming a Berks Co. Master Gardener and training for and running in marathons all over the country. Gerry will be remembered for his easy going and kind nature and his willingness to reach out and help others. He also enjoyed watching Phillies baseball and the Eagles & Penn State football.
A Memorial Service will be private. Cole Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Robesonia is handling arrangements.
