Joyce E. Hassler

Joyce E. Hassler, age 92, formerly of Robesonia passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at her apartment at StoneRidge Poplar-Run in Myerstown.

She was the loving wife of 61 years to Richard H. Hassler who died on July 10, 2017.

She was born in Longswamp Twp. on December 14, 1933 a daughter of the late Earl O. and Lillie M. (Davis) Henne.

She was a graduate of Hamburg High School.

Joyce retired from Conrad Weiser School District after 20 years of employment.

She was a member of St. Daniel’s Lutheran Church, Robesonia where she was a former Bible School and Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the Conrad Weiser Chapter #449 Order of the Eastern Star, the Die Dolpehock Sanger Choir, the Berks County German Fersommling, the Appalachian Snowmobile Club, Shartlesville Connections, and was a former Girl Scout & Camp Fire girls Leader.

She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne K. Ellefson (Terry); a son-in-law, Richard R. Herbine; a sister, Patricia Stetzler; five grandchildren, Shawn, Amanda, Jeremy, Justin, and Ashley; and eight great grandchildren, Emily, Seth, Tyler, Ella, Ava, Charlotte, Jackson, and Logan.

She was also predeceased by a son, Scott R. Hassler in 1995; a daughter, Sandra J. Herbine in 2006; a brother, Earl Henne; and a sister, Lillian Renshaw.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 10:30am at St. Daniel’s Lutheran Church, 480 Big Spring Rd., Robesonia, PA 19551.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:00pm at Cole Funeral Home, 402 E. Penn Ave., Robesonia and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am at the Church.

Interment will follow at Heidelberg Cemetery.
