Kenneth Miller Obituary

Kenneth I. Miller, 82 years of age, passed away on March 14th, 2023.  Ken was born in Reading to Russell and Venona Miller on April 15, 1940.  He is survived by his devoted wife Sandra A. (Renninger) Miller.  They were married for 36 years.  He is also survived by a son, Troy Miller and his wife Sharon with their 3 Children: Chloe, Jordan, and Luke, from Round Rock, Texas.  Also a step-son, Scott Wildermuth of Mt. Pleasant, SC.  A deceased daughter, Krista Schoener wife of Timothy Schoener and their children: Jack & Mackenzie.  Also a sister in law, Judy DiBlasi in Robesonia, and a sister in law Suzanne, wife of Charles Whitman, Myerstown.  Sister Brenda Manzalello of Shillington, and last but not least his faithful companion Murphy. Ken was one of the “13th Street Kids”, having gone to grade school at 13th & Union, Jr. High at Northeast, where he was a member of the Northeast Marines precision drill team, Reading Senior High, where he was Homeroom President, and Albright College, where he was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity, and the cross country team under coach Gene Shirk.  Ken was a cub scout, boy scout, explorer scout and scoutmaster.  After college, Ken enlisted in the Air Force to become a certified medical laboratory technician.  After his time in the Air Force, he joined PANG.  His service time was complete, he went to work at the Jackson Rope Co., as the production supervisor for the synthetic rope department.  He was there for 18 years till the company moved to Texas.  Then Ken got his CDL license and became a professional truck driver, working 17 years until he retired at the age of 65. Ken was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the NRA, Mt. Pleasant Fire Co., Leesport Fire Co., Central Fire Co., and the American Goldwing Association Chapter B., and the Meadowbrook Country Club.  Ken loved to take long rides on his Goldwing trike with Sandy.  He also loved working outdoors on his property riding his John Deere tractor.  Ken was an avid collector of baseball caps, beer memorabilia, & his lionel trains.
