Larry Bittner Obituary

Larry Bittner, 75, Reading, PA (formerly of Robesonia, PA) went home to our Heavenly Father on January 6, 2021 of natural causes.

He was born  December 23, 1945 to Kenneth and Irene (Crossland) Bittner in Cumberland, MD.

Larry is survived by his significant other, Susan Frymoyer, West Reading, PA; his three children, son Tim Bittner and fiance’ Amy Zerbe, Fleetwood, PA: daughter Wendy Sensenig and husband Brian, Omaha, NE; and son Christian Bittner and fiance’ Val Drumheller, Womelsdorf, PA; his grandchildren; Connor and Keira Sensenig, Aurelia and Lochlan Bittner and Evie Drumheller . He is also survived by brother Jerry Bittner and wife Elaine of Northampton, PA and dear friend Mary Riffle -wife of Paul Riffle, Mapleton, IA as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by brothers Carl Bittner, Jack Bittner, Ronald Bittner and sisters Janie Gregory and Esther Kennell.

Larry never met a stranger and was a true friend to all. He spent his working years as a Feeder driver for UPS. His secondary career was driving a shuttle bus for the Reading Hospital which brought him great joy.  He made wonderful friends there and touched the lives of many.

Larry enjoyed camping, spending time with his family and friends and loving on his grandchildren whether in person or by Facetiming/calling from afar. He loved Jesus, Hallmark movies, travelling, Christmas and playing Santa Claus.  In this last season of his life, he fought valiantly and though it was hard, he never let on.  He remained positive and joyful in his correspondence with all.  His warm smile, genuine heart and loving kindness is what we will all miss the most. When asked how he wanted to be remembered, he said “good-hearted, devoted and loving”. No truer words have ever been spoken.

Services will be private.
