Leonard Chelius Obituary

Leonard D. “Chips” Chelius, age 92, of Womelsdorf passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Reading Hospital.

His wife, Shirley L. (Smith) Chelius died in 2003.

Born in Womelsdorf on November 3, 1929, a son of the late Leonard V. and Erma A. (Hoffman) Chelius.

He was a graduate of Womelsdorf High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Chips retired as a Journeyman Electrician from the I.B.E.W. Local 143.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Womelsdorf, and a life member of the Womelsdorf VFW, the Womelsdorf Fire Company, and the Womelsdorf Rod & Gun.

He is survived by three sons, Scott D. Chelius (the late Robin), Mike L. Chelius (Bonnie), and Mitch L. Chelius (Sue); six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by a brother, Wayne Chelius.

A private burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
