Peter D. Plourde

Peter David Plourde, age 72, of West Lawn, Pennsylvania, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 12, with his family by his side after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was born in Bellows Falls, VT, on October 2, 1950, a son of the late Clarence and Suzanne (St. Pierre) Plourde.

He was the loving and devoted husband of Dianne (Orosz) Plourde and proud father of three children, Matthew, Nathan, and daughter, Ruth, wife of Douglas Evans, Jr.

Peter proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a 1969 graduate of Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, CT, and earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Business & Accounting from the University of Louisville. Peter retired as a Supervisor from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in Reading, PA.

More than anything, Pete enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved to hunt and explore the woods around Berks County. Pete liked to jog in the rain and build and fix things around his home. He was known to relax with an IPA and a good cigar. His faith in Christ was a deep source of strength throughout his life.

Those who knew and loved him knew Peter to be a man of honor, integrity, good humor, and unwavering devotion to his wife and children. His absence is sorely felt and his memory will be deeply cherished.

In addition to his wife, Pete is survived by his two sons, Matthew Plourde; Nathan Plourde; daughter, Ruth Evans; brother, Corey Plourde (Melissa O'Day); and sister, Susan Plourde. He was predeceased by his brother, Gary Plourde.

A private burial with Military Honors will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Cole Funeral Home, Robesonia, is handling arrangements.
