Sandra J. Stertzel

Sandra J. Stertzel, age 79, of Jefferson Twp. was received into heaven on Monday, November 13, 2023, supported by her loving family. 

Born on November 1, 1944, in Reading Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Ralph J. Miller and Katie (Adam) Miller. She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia A. Long; and two brothers, Dennis Miller and John Miller.

She graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1962 where she met her husband, Wayne L. Stertzel, to whom she was a devoted wife for 60 years.

Sandra will be remembered as a hard worker. She spent the lion's share of her career working for Penn Bernville Elementary School, where she spent 29 years working both in the cafeteria, and as a custodian. 

Sandra leaves behind a long legacy. She is survived by two sons, Terry L. Stertzel (Kelly) and Kevin W. Stertzel (Theresa); a daughter, Diane R. Stertzel; six grandchildren, Hope, Heidi, Hannah, Haley, Hugh, and Quinn Stertzel; and two great grandsons, Caleb and Anthony.

Sandra loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for being "small but feisty".

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 10:00am at Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 31 Rehrersburg Rd., Bethel, PA.
