Thomas R Siani

Thomas R. Siani, 78, of North Heidelberg Township, PA peacefully passed away in the evening hours of Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Hershey Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer due to Agent Orange exposure during his honorable service in Vietnam.  He was the husband of Nancy J. Siani, neé Mignatti.  Born Thursday, September 11, 1947 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence & Carolyn Siani, née Andes. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michael (Amanda) Siani & Lisa (Siani) Harwell, his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Vivienne & Brody Siani, Divina, Angel & Daniel Harwell, great-grandchildren, Eliyana-Aliyah and Manasseh, and by his sister Kathryn (Siani) Karschnick.  He was predeceased by a grandson, David Harwell and by his sister Joan (Siani) Hillen.
 
Thomas grew up in rural Deptford Township NJ and graduated from Deptford Township High School. He was a varsity letterman and All-Star athlete in both Football and Baseball, and a member of the wrestling team. After graduating, Tom went on to proudly serve his country in the US Navy, from 1967 – 1971 serving on the USS Taluga stationed off the coast Vietnam. After his third tour of duty in Vietnam, he was critically wounded and spent four months recovering in the Yokosuka Naval Hospital in Japan before returning home to continue rehabilitation at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital for three more months, where he met his future wife and partner for life, Nancy. They got married in 1972, and shortly thereafter Tom enrolled in Rutgers University where he majored in Science and obtained his BA Degree.
 
After graduating from Rutgers University with a wife and now two young children, Tom worked for the FDA as an investigator in both the Seattle, WA and Philadelphia, PA districts for the next five years.  He then started a food sanitation consulting company which eventually led to a few opportunities in the Reading, PA area and ultimately (with the aid of Nancy) he started Siani Pest Control Inc. in 1985 which proudly serves 1,000’s of customers within the community to this day.

As the years progressed, Tom became involved with the local VFW in Womelsdorf, PA where he went on to become the Commander of the post for many years, while actively assisting Veterans. Tom used his position at the club as a means to encounter other Vets who needed assistance with obtaining benefits and care. He helped dozens of Veterans mend their lives and regain hope of recovery and reasonable treatment in retirement. 

Tom became active in tracing his family’s historical bloodline. He discovered his family roots as a Mayflower descendant leading him to become a proud member of the Mayflower Society, which is an honor only bestowed to those whose blood line leads back to the original Mayflower that landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620. The compelling story led Tom to write several short novels about his personal journey and family historical ties to pre-colonial America.
 
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026, 11 AM at the Cole Funeral Home, 402 E. Penn Ave., Robesonia, PA  19551.  Burial with military honors to follow at 2:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.  Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, from 10 AM until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom’s memory to the charity of your choice.
