Josephine R. Shanfelder, 93, formerly of Womelsdorf, passed away in the late afternoon hours, Sunday, December 25, 2016, of natural causes in Stone Ridge Towne Centre, Myerstown. Born November 1, 1923, in Newmanstown, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy and Pauline (Weik) Shanfelder. Josephine was a member of Trinity Evangelical Fellowship Church, Womelsdorf. She was employed by the former North American Refractories Co., Newmanstown, for 42 years retiring in 1985. She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Robert Shanfelder, Betty Gruber, and Gloria Patches. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at 11 AM from Trinity Evangelical Church, 300 Lyman Ave., Womelsdorf, with the Rev. Kenneth Wiest, officiating.   Burial will follow in Millcreek Memorial Cemetery, Newmanstown.  Relatives and friends may call Tuesday from 10 AM until time of service at the church.
